This Privacy Statement describes how Smelne Yachtcenter BV (the “Website”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and discloses (personal) information when you visit the Website, use our services or make a purchase through the Website or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the “Services”). Smelne Yachtcenter BV. attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data and strives to guarantee your privacy. In this privacy statement we explain which personal data we process, why we do this, with which parties we share data, how we protect it and what your rights are.
1. Why do we process your data?
We process personal data that you provide to us for the following purposes: purposes:
- Quotes and specifications: To prepare quotes and determine which specifications or requirements our products and services must meet.
- Delivery and invoicing: For the delivery of products and services and the associated invoicing.
- Communication: For efficient communication about the implementation of the agreements.
- Direct marketing: To store and use your personal data for future communications about our products and services if you regularly order from us.
- Website Improvement: To optimize your use and user experience of the Website.
You are not obliged to provide us with your personal data. However, not providing personal data may mean that we cannot perform certain services.

We only process personal data the are necessary for our servicesDepending on the nature of the relationship (for example as a customer, supplier, or website visitor), the purpose and the basis, we may process the following (personal) data, among others:

– Address details (for delivery of products, quotation and invoicing)
– Phone number (for communication)
– Email address (for communication, quotation and invoicing)
– Invoice details (bank account number, VAT number, Chamber of Commerce number: for invoicing)
– Quotation data and correspondence (for the quotation and invoicing)
– IP address and website behavior (via Google Ads: if permission has been given)
– Click behavior and email interactions (via Mailchimp, if you have registered to receive our newsletters)
3. What is the legal basis for the processing?
We process your personal data exclusively on the basis of one or more of the following legal bases from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
a. Execution of an agreement
We process most data because it is necessary for entering into or executing an agreement with you (for example, a purchase or delivery of products/services).
b. Legal obligation
We are required by law to retain certain data, such as invoice and payment details, under tax legislation (for example for the Tax Authorities).

- Mailchimp: To send newsletters and marketing messages, we process your name, email address and information about email interactions (such as opened emails and click behavior). This helps us to improve the relevance of our messages.
- Google Analytics 4: Our website uses Google Analytics 4 to analyze visitor behavior. This includes processing anonymized location data, pages visited, duration of visit, interactions, and device and browser information.

7. What are the retention periods?

- Data from potential customers who do not become customers: maximum one year after the last contact.
- Customer data: seven years after the end of the financial year in which the agreement was terminated (due to tax obligations).
- Newsletter data: as long as you are subscribed or until you unsubscribe.
